NS3 Oil Water Separator

Project:
NS3 Oil Water Separator, Class I

Location:
Slovenian coast

Choosing the right system for cleaning up any pollution caused by humans is crucial for us and for future generations. Let us tell you something about oil pollution, how to decide which cleaning system fits your needs, and why choosing the right one is so important.

When released into a ditch, oil forms a thin layer on the water surface as a result of its lower density. Then, the oil emulsifies in reaction to the water. The resulting emulsion releases toxic elements that cause enormous problems for the environment.

That is why it is extremely important to choose the right system, one which complies with the European EN-858 standard and which has been tested in accordance with that standard.

Determination of nominal size and class has to be made in accordance with EN 858-1 and should already have been prescribed in the project or technical report, depending on the country. If not, the manufacturer can supply all the appropriate information concerning the use of any specific separator system.

Pipelife Class I and Class II Oil Water Separators are made from the highest-quality materials and with special care. Our R&D department has paid a lot of attention to developing a simple, user-friendly product offering superior cleaning results far exceeding the EN-858 requirements. Our state-of-the-art filters made with Class I lipophilic polypropylene material are most likely among the best on the market. Combining a robust body and unique design, our separators are certainly the best choice for you and your concern for the environment.

One of the first oil separators made by Pipelife was installed at a newly built winery situated in the heart of Slovenian Istria, in the village of Šmarje, close to the coastal city of Koper. Slovenia is a Mediterranean country with a stretch of Adriatic Sea coast along the Istrian peninsula. Due to the area’s typically mild climate and characteristically red soil, Slovenia enjoys a long tradition of olive oil and wine production. Living and working close to nature, and cultivating her fruits and taking care of Mother Nature is something the people here have been doing there since the beginning of time. This is a particularly sensitive environment, where even small interventions could cause serious damage to the precious soil.

When oil penetrates into the soil, the wellbeing of flora and fauna runs a great risk. Considering the dramatic effects on the environment, the purification process of a contaminated area takes a long time. And these people, coexisting with nature for centuries, have learned something…only the best is good enough for their precious environment.

That’s why the decision to install our Oil Water Separator here was only natural!
